Michigan State Spartans defensive tackle Tyler Hoover is seeking a sixth year of eligibility for the 2013 season. Hoover missed half of the 2012 season with a calf injury and missed all but one game in 2011 due to a rib injury.

Hoover had his best season in 2010, when he played in 13 games and totaled 36 tackles, three sacks, two pass deflections, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. This season, Hoover has appeared in six games and recorded seven tackles.

If Hoover returns, Michigan State will only lose one defensive tackle prior to the 2013 season; senior Anthony Rashad White.

Michigan State is 5-6 overall and 2-5 in the Big Ten this season with several close losses. They need to beat the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday, Nov. 24 in order to become bowl eligible and to not finish in last place in the Big Ten Legends Division.
