Eligible for a bowl game after picking up a key win over Minnesota on Saturday, the Michigan State Spartans are currently projected to play in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl according to SB Nation's Week 14 bowl projections.
Set to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys out of the Big 12 in the latest projections, the Spartans are likely to remain in the No. 5 spot among Big Ten bowl-eligible teams heading into the postseason. Even though they could still manage to end up at the Gator Bowl instead of a No. 4 seed Wisconsin team whom they already beat, Mark Dantonio's Spartans are a significantly smaller draw than at this point last season.
Formerly the Insight Bowl, the first ever Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl will kick off on Dec. 29 at Arizona State's Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona. Last year's game featured an exciting battle between the Oklahoma Sooners and Iowa Hawkeyes, although no school located in the state of Michigan has ever made an appearance in the bowl's 23-year history.
