With a 6-6 record and a fourth-place finish in the Big Ten's Legends Division, the Michigan State Spartans could find themselves playing at the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, according to SB Nation's Jason Kirk.
The game will match a mid-level Big 12 team with a mid-level Big Ten team, and with all signs pointing to the Spartans heading to Tempe, Ariz., now it becomes a question of who they'll play. Kirk has Mark Dantonio's team playing the Texas Tech Red Raiders, who went 7-5 this season and 4-5 in conference play.
MLive.com reported before this weekend's games that the Spartans will probably end up in Arizona as well, but Mike Griffith reported that the Oklahoma State Cowboys or the TCU Horned Frogs were likely opponents.
Above the Spartans in the Big Ten bowl pecking order are Northwestern, Michigan and Nebraska. Kirk has the Wildcats heading to the Outback Bowl, the Wolverines going to the Gator Bowl and the Cornhuskers heading to the Capital One Bowl.
Wisconsin will of course play in the Rose Bowl as the Big Ten champion.
