Michigan St. Spartans cornerback Johnny Adams will participate in the 2013 Senior Bowl, the school announced on Wednesday. Adams, a fifth-year senior, has started at corner for the Spartans for the last three seasons, and was an All-Big Ten selection by the coaches this season.
In 2012, Adams finished with 35 tackles, three interceptions, three tackles for a loss, a sack and seven pass deflections. For his career, Adams finished with 157 tackles, 11 picks and 24 pass breakups. NFLDraftScout.com has Adams rated as the No. 17 corner in the 2013 draft, but does not project him to get selected.
That all could change, though, with a standout performance at the Senior Bowl, where scouts and coaches from every NFL team pore over prospects and can at times find diamonds in the rough. The 2013 Senior Bowl will be held in Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 26. The game, which is preceded by a week of practices, will kick off at 4 p.m. ET on NFL Network.
