Disappointed by an inconsistent regular season, the Michigan State Spartans will have a prime opportunity to send their seniors out with a victory on Saturday night against TCU in the 2012 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
The Spartans never quite recaptured the same level of offensive production from their impressive 2011 campaign, and quickly slid down the standings after suffering four losses in a five-game span during Big Ten play. While Michigan State has yet to ever play in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, formerly dubbed both the Insight and Cotton Bowl, the Spartans did manage to pull off a thrilling 33-30 triple overtime victory over Georgia last season in the Outback Bowl.
The last of five bowl games scheduled to air on ESPN's family of networks on Saturday, the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl will follow a highly-anticipated Alamo Bowl game between Oregon State and Texas on ESPN. Although no bowls are scheduled to be played on Sunday with the conclusion of the NFL regular season set to overtake the airwaves, Michigan State's late night showdown with TCU will easily last into the early hours on Sunday.
