Clemson, SC – Evan Smotrycz scored 18 points to lead the Michigan Wolverines to a 69-61 victory over the Clemson Tigers in a matchup for the ACC/BigTen Challenge at Littlejohn Coliseum.
Tim Hardaway Jr added 15 points for Michigan (4-2), while Darius Morris tallied 13 points, to go along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Andre Young posted 14 points for Clemson (5-2), while Demontez Stitt tallied 11 points in the loss.
The Wolverines shot a sizzling 60.0 percent from the floor in the first half and went into the break with a 40-24 advantage.
Michigan ran cold in the second stanza, netting just 29.2 percent of its attempts from the floor, but used a 12-of-17 clip from the foul line to grab the eight-point win.
Michigan was solid defensively, holding Clemson to a meager 36.5 percent shooting effort.
