Tate Forcier Runs Over WXYZ's Don Shane (Video)

During the third overtime of Saturday's ridiculous Michigan-Illinois game, Tate Forcier was pushed as he stepped out of bounds on a run. In the process, he ran over an innocent bystander on the sideline, who got hit in the face and fell to the ground. From my vantage point 50 rows away in the corner of that end zone, the hit looked pretty ferocious, so I figured a fan just got a lesson in why you have to keep your head on a swivel when standing that close to the field.

As it turns out, it was not a fan that got ran over by Forcier; it was actually WXYZ sports director Don Shane. Despite taking the big hit and needing stitches on his lip, he actually was able to interview Forcier after Michigan stopped Illinois' two-point conversion attempt to win the game.

The Michigan medical staff attended to Shane later on, and Michigan radio color commentator Jim Brandstatter drove him home.
