Michigan's Darius Morris, Tim Hardaway Jr. Win Weekly Big Ten Honors

The Michigan basketball team is a surprising 10-2 going into Tuesday night's Big Ten opener versus Purdue. And with that success, some individual efforts are now being recognized.

Point guard Darius Morris was named Big Ten Player of the Week for his performance against Bryant last Thursday. Morris scored a career-high 26 points to go with 12 assists, posting his fourth double-double of the season. The sophomore also shot 4-of-6 from three-point range and 8-of-10 from the free throw line, while also grabbing six rebounds.

Tim Hardaway Jr. won Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, sharing the award with Ohio State's Jared Sullinger (who's won the award in six of seven weeks). Hardaway scored 20 points, his highest total of the season, while shooting 4-of-8 on his three-point tries. He also totaled five rebounds and two assists.

Both awards are the first for Michigan this season, and the first for each player thus far in their collegiate careers.
