For anybody that hates Michigan, Friday was like a perfect dream. Rich Rodriguez's affinity for the Josh Groban song You Raise Me Up made national headlines, causing radio shows, TV shows, message boards, blogs and so on to go crazy with laughter. Michigan State fans especially got a kick out of the story, including 97.1 The Ticket radio host Mike Valenti.
↵Locally Valenti is known for his brash style of radio and nationally he is known for his epic rant about the Michigan State football program back in 2006 after a choke job against Notre Dame. Valenti went to MSU and is no stranger to bashing Michigan, so the news about Rich Rodriguez and Josh Groban was like putting a baseball on a tee for Miguel Cabrera. You knew Valenti would have a field day with the news and he certainly didn't disappoint.
↵As Valenti's show (with Terry Foster) began Friday afternoon, he performed his own rendition of You Raise Me Up. Audio from past Rich Rodriguez press conferences, Michigan radio broadcasts and even Valenti's own Notre Dame rant were spliced into the song and well, it was pretty hilarious (and that's coming from a Michigan fan that normally hates Valenti). Check it out for yourself:

As if this wasn't embarrassing enough for Michigan, MSU fans have taken to Facebook to start a campaign with one simple goal: bring Josh Groban to Spartan Stadium to sing the National Anthem at next season's Michigan game. If Rodriguez is still around and that actually happens, my head may explode.
