Former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr believes the movement and expansion we saw in college football over the spring and summer is just the beginning. Speaking to the Montgomery Quarterback Club in Alabama on Tuesday, Carr said he thinks the Big Ten isn't yet done with expansion.
↵From the Montgomery Advertiser:
↵↵↵"There are lots of changes ahead," said Carr, a longtime assistant at Michigan -- mostly under Bo Schembechler -- before becoming the Wolverines' head coach in 1995.
↵"I'll give you one prediction -- and this is just a personal prediction -- but I think Notre Dame is going to come to the Big Ten."
↵
Ultimately, Carr believes the Big Ten will expand to 16 teams, forcing the SEC and Big 12 conferences to make similar moves to keep up. And if Notre Dame wants to continue being a factor in college football, joining a conference will be necessary.
