Evanston, IL (Sports Network) - John Shurna scored 24 points as the Northwestern Wildcats cruised past the Michigan Wolverines, 74-60, in a Big Ten Conference matchup at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Luka Mirkovic scored 13 points for the Wildcats (12-5, 3-4 Big10), while Michael Thompson added 10 points and handed out seven assists.
The Wolverines (11-8, 1-5) were led by Stu Douglass and Darius Morris, who scored 17 and 16 points, respectively.
Northwestern jumped out to a 44-31 first half lead largely behind an 8-of-16 effort from beyond the arc.
The Wildcats led by as many as 22 points in the second half and cruised to victory.
Michigan managed to shoot just 39.7 percent from the field in the loss.
