Unlike the AP Top 25, Michigan State moved up a spot in the Week 14 USA Today Poll. The Spartans were 10th last week, and this week they are ninth in the nation after beating Northwestern. Michigan, which was ranked 16th in last week's poll, is still in that spot this week.

Michigan needs to get into the top 14 of the BCS standings to be eligible for an at-large berth. Since the USA Today Poll is one of the components of the BCS, the Wolverines will hope to move ahead of the Michigan State/Wisconsin loser, Georgia (if LSU wins the SEC Championship Game) and Oklahoma (if Oklahoma State wins that rivalry game) next week.
