Coming off of a trip to Maui where the Wolverines won two out of three games, Michigan is looking to keep its positive momentum going when it travels to Virginia Tuesday night to face the Cavaliers in the 2011 Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Michigan rose to No. 15 in this week's coaches poll, and at 5-1 they already have impressive victories over UCLA and Memphis. This will be the first true road game for the Wolverines, however.
SB Nation's Virginia blog Streaking The Lawn recently spoke with Dave of Maize N. Brew about Tuesday's game:
Through the first three games against very weak opponents, Michigan's defense looked excellent and held each of its opponents in check defensively. Heading into the Memphis game, I was very concerned with our prospects defensively. Like Virginia, Michigan really likes to slow down the game on offense and defense.
Virginia is 5-1 on the season with their only loss coming against TCU. Tuesday's game has a 7 p.m. start time and will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
