Sugar Bowl 2012: Michigan Unveils Special Uniform

The Michigan Wolverines experienced quite a bit of success in a 10-2 regular season, but as we speculated earlier, they will be switching things up by wearing a special road white uniform (check out a photo here) when they play Virginia Tech in the 2012 Sugar Bowl. Via SB Nation:

In addition to the jersey -- which features a blue collar, blue stripes on the shoulder pads, a block M on the upper right chest and the Sugar Bowl logo on the upper left chest -- the Wolverines will also wear gray face masks, a tribute to the school's helmets from the 1960s.

This will mark the third time that the Wolverines have worn a special jersey this season -- they wore a retro-inspired "Legacy" jersey in their home game against Notre Dame and their road game against Michigan State.

The 2012 Sugar Bowl is set to kick off at 8:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Tuesday, Jan. 3, on ESPN.
