The Michigan Wolverines (10-2) and Penn State Nittany Lions (8-5) tipped off the Big Ten portion of their schedules on Thursday night at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor. At the half, Michigan is on its way to an 8-0 mark at home this season, up on Penn State 36-22.
Michigan started sluggish, shooting under 40-percent for much of the first half, but a 10-3 run in the final three and a half minutes helped them go into the locker room at 44-percent with a double-digit lead on one of the weaker teams in the Big Ten.
Tim Hardaway Jr. leads all scorers with 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting (all four misses coming from beyond the arc). Evan Smotrycz added seven points and seven rebounds for the Wolverines.
Michigan was just 3-of-15 from downtown, but helped keep Penn State shooting just 8-of-24 overall.
