Bowl Game Gifts Include A Little Bit Of Everything For Michigan Teams

The college football bowl game gifts are annually one of the more exciting things to track each year as they've included quite a few entertaining things for the players participating in the postseason. The Michigan teams competing in this year's bowl games don't have anything overly exciting, but free gifts are free gifts.

The Sports Business Journal released its 2011 guide to gifts for the bowl games on Tuesday afternoon and, unless Outback Steakhouse is a personal favorite of the players, there isn't anything that's going to make them say 'wow.'

  • The Michigan Wolverines are playing in the Sugar Bowl against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Jan. 3 in New Orleans for their part in the BCS bowl game. Their gifts will include a "gift suite" along with a Reactor watch, New Era cap and Majestic fleece pullover.
  • The Michigan St. Spartans will receive a $150 Best Buy gift card, a Fossil watch, a ring, a cap and a $25 gift certificate to the Outback Steakhouse when they travel to Florida to play the Georgia Bulldogs in the Outback Bowl.
  • Detroit's own bowl, the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, will offer a Timely Watch Co. watch along with a leather duffel bag and commemorative football to the football teams from Purdue and Western Michigan.

The bowl games are more about post-season victories, but the gifts the players are given is a nice gesture as well.
