Traverse City offensive tackle Jake Fisher will sign with the Oregon Ducks, according to Tom VanHaaren. Fisher was originally going to announce his decision at a press conference this morning, but the blizzard that rolled through the Midwest has pushed that back until Thursday. Fisher's high school coach relayed the news to VanHaaren, however, confirming reports from yesterday that the offensive tackle is headed to Oregon.
Fisher was committed to Michigan before Rich Rodriguez and his coaching staff were fired. After the coaching change was made he decommitted and took visits to Michigan State, Florida and Oregon, the school he ultimately decided to attend.
Fisher is rated as a three-star OT on Rivals and ESPN. Scout gives him four stars but also lists his positions as defensive end and tight end, as he is relatively new to the offensive tackle position.
In addition to Oregon, Michigan, Michigan State and Florida, Fisher boasts offers from Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Toledo and Western Michigan.
