That is to say that it was actually really awkward. It seemed to stop just short of Rich Rodriguez suggesting Brady Hoke try the hot pockets:

When Sean told us last week that Rich Rod would be an analyst on CBS Sports for National Signing Day, nobody imagined he'd be interviewing the coach who replaced him at Michigan. That would be, like, a dreadfully uncomfortable situation to put the recently fired coach, who's on a one-day analyst contract.
↵But that's exactly what happened, as CBS Sports had several college coaches -- including Hoke -- call in throughout their coverage. Apparently Rich Rod had an opportunity to not be involved when Hoke phoned in, but he opted to rise up and ask his well-scripted questions. Rodriguez and Hoke both handled it remarkably well and it was probably more awkward for the viewers than Rich Rod or Hoke let on.
