Even if the NFL and NFLPA can't agree on a new CBA and a lockout happens, there will be a draft this offseason. As a result, it's necessary to go ahead with all of the pre-draft activities, including the 2011 NFL Combine. This year's combine is set to take place in Indianapolis from Feb. 23 to March 1, and seven players from local colleges have been invited to participate in it:
↵Michigan
↵OG Steve Schilling
↵LB Jonas Mouton
↵Michigan State
↵WR Mark Dell
↵TE Charlie Gantt
↵LB Greg Jones
↵CB Chris Rucker
↵Central Michigan
↵LB Nick Bellore
↵For those not familiar with the NFL Combine, basically a bunch of different drills are conducted for each of the different position groups. The 40-yard dash is one of the more popular drills, for example, as it is believed to be an excellent indicator of a player's speed. The numbers from the combine can only tell you so much about a player, but it is interesting to watch nonetheless.
