Michigan Basketball Gets Commit From Nick Stauskas

Just like the football program, the Michigan basketball team has picked up a pair of commits in the span of days. On Friday, 2011 power forward Max Bielfeldt committed to the Wolverines, picking them over Illinois. On Saturday, Nick Stauskas (also known as Nik Stauskas) became the second member of Michigan's 2012 recruiting class by committing to Michigan.

Stauskas is a shooting guard/small forward. Rivals and ESPN evaluate him as a three-star recruit (ESPN's grade is an 89 for him), and Scout has not rated him yet. Rivals ranks him as the 106th player in the nation for 2012.

Stauskas hails from Southborough, Massachusetts, but he plays on a Canadian AAU team. Two of his teammates from St. Mark's School are also bound for Division I college basketball, as both Alex Murphy and Kaleb Tarczewski are five-star recruits on Rivals. Murphy has already committed to Duke.

UM Hoops reports that Stauskas has offers from Butler, Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Stanford and Wake Forest, in addition to Michigan, of course.

Michigan's 2012 recruiting class now includes Stauskas and Glenn Robinson III, who committed to Michigan last September.
