UPDATE: The official unveiling of Michigan's throwback jersey is set to take place on Friday, as is the reveal of Notre Dame's jersey. A picture of Notre Dame's helmet for this game may have already leaked out, though.

Ever since Brian Kelly made it public that Michigan and Notre Dame will be wearing throwback jerseys for their night game at Michigan Stadium in September, there has been much speculation about what the uniforms will look like. The speculation was taken to another level for Michigan's jersey after the Detroit Free Press revealed a picture of what it is supposed to look like.

Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon denied the jersey will look like the picture from the Free Press and even called it a "pirated picture." However, on Wednesday, the website of the MDen (the official store for Michigan athletics) had an item briefly up for sale that was described as an "Adidas Throwback Football Jersey" for Michigan's night game, and it looks exactly like the one in the Free Press' picture.

When Michigan switched to Adidas a few years, I was glad because I figured Michigan wouldn't ever be subjected to something like the almost always ugly Nike pro combat jerseys. Each of the last two years Michigan fans have made fun of OSU's awful pro combat "throwback" jerseys, but the one in the above picture is far worse in my mind. It's even uglier when you get a Photoshopped preview of what it may look like in game action.

Dave Brandon has done a lot of good things so far as athletic director at Michigan, but I may have to rethink my opinion of him if he actually OK'd these clown suits for Michigan to wear in its first ever home night game.
