Michigan Football Recruiting: Dymonte Thomas Commits

Following Michigan's thrilling 35-31 victory over Notre Dame on Saturday, the Wolverines picked up a commitment from Ohio safety Dymonte Thomas. He was at the game as part of an unofficial visit, and he was so impressed with Michigan that he decided to end his recruitment and pick the Wolverines.

Since Thomas is a 2013 recruit, he hasn't been evaluated by any of the recruiting sites just yet. When he is rated, the expectation is for Thomas to be ranked as one of the top recruits in the state of Ohio for 2013. Michigan's other 2013 commit, Shane Morris, is expected to be one of the top players in all of the country, so Brady Hoke and company are really off to a great start for the 2013 class.

Thomas' offer list already includes Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, UCLA and West Virginia. Ohio State has not offered Thomas yet, and now that he is a Michigan commit, it's not clear if the Buckeyes will extend a scholarship to him.

One thing worth noting is that Thomas is the cousin of Bri'onte Dunn, a 2012 running back recruit who is committed to Ohio State. Michigan is still trying to get Dunn to decommit from OSU to join the Wolverines' recruiting class, and I'm sure Thomas will be in Dunn's ear quite a bit now that he is set to head to Ann Arbor in two years.
