Michigan Vs. Minnesota: Wolverines Go For Second Big Ten Victory

The Michigan Wolverines will host the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Sunday in Big Ten conference play. Michigan will hope to remain undefeated within the Big Ten.

On Sunday, the No. 16 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team will host the Minnesota Golden Gophers in Ann Arbor. The game will be the first Big Ten matchup of 2010.

The Wolverines currently hold an overall record of 11-2 and have won their only Big Ten in-conference game so far. The Gophers, meanwhile boast a record of 12-2 but have lost their only Big Ten game.

Michigan has been handed their only losses by ranked teams Duke and Virginia and are coming off a dominating win over Penn State on Thursday. The Gophers suffered a double-overtime loss in their most recent game against Illinois, but Ralph Sampson III had a career game for Minnesota and continues a strong season. He figures to be a player to watch for in Sunday's game.

The game between the Wolverines and the Golden Gophers will tip off at 4:00 PM EST on Sunday, January 1. The Wolverines are favored to win by six points and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
