Regardless of which team wins Super Bowl 46, two former Michigan players and at least one former Michigan State player will get a ring. This is because both the New England Patriots and New York Giants have players who went to Michigan (two on each team) and Michigan State (one on the Patriots and two on the Giants). In fact, there are seven total former Michigan and Michigan State players headed to the 2012 Super Bowl (eight if you count former Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett, who began his career at Michigan), and there is also one former Grand Valley State football player headed to Indianapolis.
↵Here's the breakdown of the eight players from Michigan colleges who are on teams going to the Super Bowl:
↵New England Patriots
↵QB Tom Brady (Michigan), QB Brian Hoyer (Michigan State), OG Nick McDonald (Grand Valley State), P Zoltan Mesko (Michigan)
↵New York Giants
↵WR Mario Manningham (Michigan), WR Devin Thomas (Michigan State), C David Baas (Michigan), LB Greg Jones (Michigan State)
