ANIMATED: David Wilson Runs The Wrong Way In Sugar Bowl

In the first quarter of the 78th annual Allstate Sugar Bowl at the Superdome, Virginia Tech's running back David Wilson was looking for running room against the Michigan Wolverines' defense. On first-and-goal from the Michigan four-yard line, Wilson found plenty of open field to run, but the only problem was that it was the wrong way.

Here is Wilson's 27-yard backwards run in forward loopiness [via Bubbaprog of Mocksession]:

YOU RE GOING THE WRONG WAY

Virginia Tech ultimately had to settle for a Justin Myer 27-yard field goal because Wilson's backtracking set up a nearly impossible goal line situation from, oh, just the 31-yard line. Virginia Tech now leads Michigan 6-0 in the second quarter.
