No. 19 Michigan never trailed against No. 6 Ohio State on Saturday night at Crisler Arena, where the Wolverines are now a perfect 16-0 this season. Michigan, who lost to the Buckeyes on January 29 in Columbus, walked away with a 56-51 win to move into a tie for second place in the Big Ten standings, just half a game behind the first place Michigan State Spartans.
Trey Burke led the Wolverines with 17 points and five assists. Tim Hardaway Jr. added 13 points on 4-for-5 shooting. The Wolverines forced 12 Buckeyes turnovers opposite their eight, which is remarkable considering the Buckeyes have a top plus-5.4 turnover difference this season. Michigan also held OSU to 39-percent shooting and their lowest scoring half this season (20 in the first half).
Deshaun Thomas had game-highs for the Buckeyes with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Jared Sullinger, who had just four points at the half, finished with 14.
Michigan plays at Northwestern on Tuesday.
