Jon Horford Injury Update: Michigan Forward's Stress Fracture Will Sideline Him For Rest Of Season

Out with a foot injury since December, Michigan forward Jon Horford, son of Tito Horford and brother of Al Horford, will not play the rest of this college season [via Free Press]:

Michigan basketball coach John Beilein made it official today: Sophomore forward Jon Horford’s season is done

Horford's foot injury has kept him out since mid-December. At such a late point in the season, Beilein said it makes no sense to have him hanging on to the chance he might play.

"It’s not fair to him," Beilein said.

Horford's recovery was reportedly coming along and he was even practicing with the team in half court sets. Ultimately, though, Beilein and his staff decided they did not want to leave Horford's status up in the air any longer. Horford is expected to receive a medical redshirt for this season.
