The 2012 NCAA tournament bracket and field have been announced, and the Michigan Wolverines have received a No. 4 seed in the Midwest Region. The Wolverines' opening game will be against the Ohio Bobcats, and they will play on Friday in Nashville. If Michigan wins, it will face the winner of No. 5 Temple and No. 12 California/South Florida on Sunday.
The Wolverines earned a No. 4 seed after winning a share of the Big Ten regular-season title. Thanks to Ohio State's win over Michigan State on the final day of the regular season, the Wolverines nudged their way into a three-way tie atop the standings. However, the Wolverines' Big Ten tournament run was cut short in the semifinals with a blowout loss to the Buckeyes.
Here's a look at the Midwest Region of the 2012 NCAA tournament bracket:
No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 16 Lamar OR Vermont (Friday)
No. 8 Creighton vs. No. 9 Alabama (Friday)
No. 5 Temple vs. No. 12 California OR South Florida (Friday)
