VIDEO: Michigan QB Denard Robinson Gives Speech At Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon

Following in the footsteps of Michigan State's Kirk Cousins, who spoke at last year's event, Michigan senior quarterback Denard Robinson took the podium at the 2012 Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon on Friday to deliver a heartfelt speech about his life and the choices he's made.

Robinson talked of his upbringing in Florida, and the troubles he faced growing up in a tough environment where violence was common. In addition to throwing out an interesting fact that he was not the most athletic kid in his neighborhood growing up, the dual-threat quarterback also spoke about academic problems that could have killed his football career before it ever had a chance to blossom.

Once self-conscious of where he grew up and the perception that came attached with it, it's clear that Robinson has made major strides as an individual over his college tenure. Viewed by nearly every last soul around the sport as an infectious personality who always seems to have a smile on his face, Michigan fans will be forever hopeful that Robinson can take the podium once again for a Heisman Trophy-winning speech December.
