Michigan Football: Denard Robinson, Jordan Kovacs Voted Captains

Quarterback Denard Robinson and safety Jordan Kovacs have been voted captains of the 2012 Michigan Wolverines football team, the school announced on Sunday.

Both players were major contributors to the team in 2011. Kovacs finished second on the Wolverines in tackles with 75, including eight tackles for loss and four sacks. Robinson threw for 2,173 yards and 20 touchdowns and also led the Wolverines in rushing with 1,176 yards. It was the second year in a row that Robinson eclipsed 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing.

The Wolverines open up their 2012 season against the Alabama Crimson Tide in Arlington, Texas on Sept. 1.
