Air Force Vs. Michigan 2012: Denard Robinson's Big Day Helps Wolverines Hold On

The Michigan Wolverines didn't make it look easy, but they did hold off the Air Force Falcons to pick up their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon. Denard Robinson contributed on four touchdowns as the 19th-ranked Wolverines held on for a 31-25 victory.

Robinson began his day with a 79-yard touchdown run to give the Wolverines a 7-0 victory early in the first quarter, but Air Force battled the whole way through, bringing the game to within a field goal when Cody Getz scored his third touchdown of the day with 12 minutes left to play.

Michigan was able to hold on, however, as the unranked Air Force squad couldn't overcome the play of the effervescent Robinson.

Box Score Hero: It'd be hard to vote for anyone but Robinson in this category considering the quarterback ran for 218 yards and a pair of touchdowns while contributing 208 yards and a pair of touchdowns with his arm as well.

Rankings Ramifications: Michigan's spot in the rankings was a bit contentious follow last week's loss, but Saturday's win should at least allow them to continue to stay within the top 20 when it comes to the polls.

But Did They Cover? No. Michigan was supposed to win by 21 points so the six-point margin of victory wasn't quite what was planned.
