Pistons vs. Timberwolves: Detroit and Minnesota play in Winnipeg

The Detroit Pistons will play their next to last preseason game on Wednesday night in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where they'll take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Steve Mitchell-US PRESSWIRE

The Detroit Pistons take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It's the second to last preseason game for the Pistons, who will finish the preseason on Friday night at home against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Pistons will look to get second year big man Greg Monroe the ball on the inside, as the Timberwolves will be without the injured Kevin Love. Monroe has emerged as one of the Piston's best players, and is averaging over 13 points and 5.5 rebounds in just over 25 minutes per game this preseason. Rookie Andre Drummond has averaged almost 10 points and six rebounds per game for Detroit during the preseason. The Wolves, however, still have an inside presence in Nikola Pekovic, and a re-emerging Brandon Roy, so they should not be taken lightly.

Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. CT. The Pistons open the regular season at home on Oct. 31 against the Houston Rockets.
