The Detroit Pistons appeared to be in line for their first win of the season on Monday, but a poor fourth quarter cost them the lead and the game against Oklahoma City.
Detroit led 73-62 heading into the fourth quarter, but Oklahoma City outscored the Pistons 30-17 in the final quarter to win 92-90. The Thunder erased the Pistons' 11-point lead in just four minutes with a 13-0 run to open the fourth quarter. The teams went back and forth for the rest of the quarter, but Brandon Knight missed a three-point attempt that would have tied the game at 88 and the Thunder made their free throws down the stretch to hang on for the win.
Knight struggled in the game, making just 2 of 13 shots. He finished with eight points and six assists. The other four Pistons starters all scored in double figures, led by Rodney Stuckey, who scored 19 points to lead Detroit while Greg Monroe added 17 points and six rebounds.
Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook led all scorers with 33 points. Westbrook also pulled down 10 rebounds. His teammate, Kevin Durant, finished with 26 points and nine rebounds.
With the loss, Detroit fell to 0-8 on the season and 0-2 at home. The Pistons will be back on the court Wednesday against the 76ers.
