NBA schedule 2012: Pistons visit Suns, Lakers this weekend

The Detroit Pistons head West this weekend for matchups against the Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Detroit Pistons head West to face the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers this weekend. The Pistons will take on the Suns Friday night before a late-night trip to play the Lakers on Sunday.

Both Detroit and Phoenix lost their season openers earlier in the week. The Pistons faltered late on Wednesday against the Houston Rockets, getting outscored 33-15 in the fourth quarter in a 105-96 loss. James Harden was dynamite in his Rockets debut, torching the Pistons for 37 points, 12 assists, six rebounds and four steals.

Detroit got balanced scoring from its offense, with five guys scoring in double figures and four others scoring at least seven points. Brandon Knight led the Pistons with 15 points, although he shot just 5-of-15 from the field.

Phoenix struggled mightily on the offensive end in a 87-85 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. With Steve Nash now in Los Angeles, it will likely take some time for the Suns to find their way.

As for those Lakers, they have gotten off to a disappointing 0-2 start. Nash has already suffered an injury, while coach Mike Brown has come under a lot of fire for his offensive strategy.
