Pistons vs. Nuggets final score: Detroit falls to 0-4 after 109-97 loss in Denver

The Detroit Pistons ran out of gas on the road as their fourth-quarter comeback against the Denver Nuggets came up short in the 109-97 loss.

Detroit played from behind much of the night after giving up a second-quarter lead. Denver expanded its 5-point halftime lead to 9 points after three quarters and then appeared to put the game away in the fourth quarter by pushing the lead to 17 points.

The Pistons continued battling in the mile-high air and used a 10-point run to cut the lead down to 7 points following a dunk by Jonas Jerebko with less than four minutes to play. Denver answered with six consecutive points by Andre Iguodala to put away the first win of the season for the Nuggets. Iguodala paced Denver with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

Detroit remains in search of its first win, dropping to 0-4 to start the 2012-13 NBA season. Greg Monroe led the Pistons with 27 points and 10 rebounds while Rodney Stuckey added 17 points.

The Pistons continue their road trip Wednesday night when they visit the Sacramento Kings.
