The Detroit Pistons fell to the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday 105-103, but there was a huge individual effort that really kept the Pistons in the game. Center Greg Monroe had a triple-double in the game, with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. It was his first career triple-double, and while he had some support from his teammates, he was the lone "highlight" for the Pistons in that one.

Monroe was subdued when talks about his performance, as noted by MLive.com. He simply said "I just took what the team gave me. We had good sets. I was able to get my teammates easy shots out of sets. That was it." He might have been a good deal more excited had his team actually walked away with the win.

Also as noted by MLive.com, Monroe's triple-double was the first for the Pistons since Chauncey Billups had one nearly nine years ago, on Feb. 20, 2004. It was the first by a Detroit center since Ben Wallace on Nov. 20, 2002.
