2012 NBA power rankings: Pistons moving up

The Pistons went 2-2 last week, but moved up in the latest NBA power rankings.

After winning two games last week and playing the Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls close, the Detroit Pistons moved up in the latest NBA power rankings.

The Pistons moved up two spots to No. 24 in SB Nation's latest NBA power rankings. Brandon Knight is a big reason for the rise. Knight scored 30 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists in the Pistons' win against Cleveland on Saturday. SB Nation's Seth Rosenthal also notes the Pistons are .500 since snapping their eight-game losing streak.

Detroit also moved up in the latest ESPN.com power rankings, checking in at No. 22 after being ranked No. 24 last week. The Pistons moved ahead of Charlotte, which dropped three spots this week. The Pistons were also No. 22 in the latest rankings on NBA.com.

NBA.com's John Schuhmann points out the Pistons are 4-5 since Charlie Villanueva re-entered Detroit's rotation.

Finally, Detroit was ranked No. 24 in the Sporting News' power rankings, compiled by Sean Deveney. Like others, Deveney also points to the recent play of Knight as a reason why Detroit is moving up.
