Kings vs. Pistons: Detroit tries to stay hot at home

The Pistons are attempting to salvage their season after a poor start. Charlie Villanueva's strong play of late has helped Detroit during its recent winning streak.

The Detroit Pistons will go for a fifth win in six games when they host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. For the Kings, this contest kicks off a four-game road trip. Sacramento is a woeful 1-12 on the road this season. The Pistons, meanwhile, have won three straight games at The Palace.

Detroit is coming off big victories over the Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks. Sacramento has also notched two consecutive wins over formidable opponents, having defeated the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics.

Part of Detroit's recent success can be attributed to the reemergence of Charlie Villanueva. The veteran power forward had averaged just 6.8 points in his first 19 games, but Villanueva has scored 15.5 points per game in his last four contests

In November, the Pistons lost in Sacramento, 105-103. But the difference between the Kings' home and away performances is staggering. Sacramento averages nearly 10 fewer points per game when on the road.
