<p><a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.blessyouboys.com/">Detroit Tigers</a> center fielder <span>Austin Jackson</span> lost out on the<a href="http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20101115&content_id=16099572&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb"> American League Rookie of the Year</a> Award. In results announced today, Jackson finished second behind <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.lonestarball.com/">Texas Rangers</a> reliever <span>Neftali Feliz</span>.</p>
<p>Feliz received 20 out of 28 first-place votes, and received a total of 122 points. The other eight first-place votes went to Jackson, who finished with 98 points altogether.</p>
<p>Jackson batted .293/.345/.400 with four home runs, 41 RBIs and 27 stolen bases for Detroit this season. He led AL rookies in hits, runs scored, total bases, stolen bases, extra-base hits, doubles and triples.</p>
<p>Feliz saved a major league-record 40 games for the Rangers, helping them toward an AL West division title. He struck out 71 batters in 69 1/3 innings.</p>
<p>But regardless of the vote, Tigers fans will always have <a href="http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=8632009">the catch</a> in <span>Armando Galarraga</span>'s "almost perfect" game<a href="http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100603&content_id=10748658&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb"> to remember</a>.</p>
<p><a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.twinkietown.com/">Minnesota Twins</a> third baseman <span>Danny Valencia</span> finished in third place with 12 points, and <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.draysbay.com/">Tampa Bay Rays</a> pitcher <span>Wade Davis</span> earned 11 points for a fourth-place finish.</p>
<p>The Tigers’ <span>Brennan Boesch</span> finished in a tie for fifth-place in the voting, with the Rays’ <span>John Jaso</span> and <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.camdenchat.com/">Baltimore Orioles</a> pitcher <span>Brian Matusz</span>. Boesch received three third-place votes.</p>
<p>In the National League, <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.mccoveychronicles.com/">San Francisco Giants</a> catcher <span>Buster Posey</span> won Rookie of the Year honors. <a class="sbn-auto-link" href="https://www.talkingchop.com/">Atlanta Braves</a> outfielder <span>Jason Heyward</span> finished second.</p>
