After losing to UConn last week in the Maui Invitational, Michigan State has dropped from No. 2 in the AP Poll to sixth. The Spartans had six first-place votes in last week's poll, but now all first-place votes have moved to Duke, the Spartans' opponent on Wednesday. The Blue Devils are the unanimous No. 1 in the poll, taking all 65 first-place votes.

Michigan State is the second-highest ranked one-loss team. The top four is filled with undefeated teams, but one-loss Kansas State comes in at No. 5. The Spartans are next, sharing the same 5-1 record. Interestingly, UConn, the team that handed MSU its only loss, is now ranked seventh, one spot behind the Spartans, after not being ranked at all last week. UConn is currently 5-0 after winning the Maui Invitational.
