Less than a week ago, the Red Wings were sitting on a six-game losing streak and another loss from matching their worst losing streak in 20 years. During the losing streak, the Red Wings scored just six goals and allowed 16.

After tonight's 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars, they're now rocking a four-game winning streak in which they've scored 18 goals and allowed only four. That's called doing a 180.

This was the last of a six-game homestand in which the Red Wings picked up nine of a possible 12 points, finishing it at 4-1-1 and improving to 9-5-1 on the season, four points behind Chicago in the Central.

Tied at two goals apiece in the third period, Johan Franzen netted his team-leading ninth goal of the season, assisted on by Valeri Filppula and Brad Stuart. The Stars had a chance to tie the game about five minutes later, but Ian White's face had other plans, diving face-first in front of a puck and preventing a goal. White, who scored in the second period, had to leave the game to receive stitches and did not return.

The Wings went on to add two more off the sticks of Darren Helm (off a pretty feed from Hudler) and Stuart.

Jimmy Howard stopped 25-of-27 shots and picked up the win. Detroit outshot Dallas 40-27, maintaining their league leading shot differential.

The Wings hit the road now for four games, starting in St. Louis on Tuesday.

After shutting out the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings will take on the Dallas Stars at home on Saturday, looking for their fourth-straight win. The team will be keeping the same lineup from Thursday, the biggest thing of note being Todd Bertuzzi missing another game. Bertuzzi has swelling in his ear and has a sinus infection, and he'll join Fabian Brunnstrom and Mike Commodore as scratches for the game. Commodore has been taking time here and there, but has been brought along slowly and sparingly since a big injury. Brunnstrom is having to earn every bit of playing time he gets. Jimmy Howard will be in net after recording the shutout against Edmonton, his third this season.

Below, we've got the full lineup for tonight's game against Dallas, the first meeting between the Western Conference rivals this season (Dallas took three of four games, including both at the Joe Louis Arena during the 2010-2011 season), courtesy of the official Red Wings Twitter account:

For more on the Red Wings, visit Winging It In Motown

The Detroit Red Wings once again hitting their stride, after starting the season 5-0, they went on to drop six straight, ending up at 5-5-1. But they've salvaged their six-game homestand with wins in their last three games and will close out said homestand with a tilt against the Dallas Stars on Saturday.

After scoring just six goals during their six-game losing streak, the Red Wings have won their last three by a margin of 13-2, with shutout victories over the Anaheim Ducks and the Edmonton Oilers. Jimmy Howard is tied for the league lead in shutouts with three after stopping 24 shots in the team's most recent outing against the Oilers, out-performing Nikolai Khabibulin.

Dallas lost it's last game, allowing to third period goals to the Penguins dropping in the standings and snapping their four-game winning streak. They'd won two straight on the road before losing in Pittsburgh, but are still one of the hottest teams in the league at the moment. They also took three of the four games against the Red Wings last season, winning both games at the notoriously tough Joe Louis Arena.

Detroit is about to head on a tough road trip against conference rivals and are looking to finish out their homestand with a win. The game is set for 7:00 p.m. eastern and can be seen on, as usual, Fox Sports Detroit.
