The Detroit Pistons were unable to snap a two-game losing streak on Saturday, following losses to the Bulls and the 76ers, they were downed by the New York Knicks in a big way, losing 103-80. After a very competitive first quarter in which the Pistons trailed just 25-24, they were outscored 39-18 in the second, and then significantly in the third as well. They started to surge in the fourth, but it was too little, too late, and they moved to 2-6 on the season.

Amare Stoudemire led the way for the Knicks nad overall with 22 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals. He shot 8-for-15 from the field, but missed both of his three-point attempts. The Knicks got a complete game from their lineup, though, with five other players sinking at least four baskets from the field. Mike Bibby had 16 points, shooting 4-for-4 from range.

Brandon Knight led the way for the Pistons, with forty minutes on the court, 19 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. He was essentially the only spark for the Pistons on the night, though Greg Monroe continued to put together strong outings with 15 points.

Next, the Pistons will try and get back in the win column with a rematch against the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

For more on the Detroit Pistons, check out Detroit Bad Boys.

The Detroit Pistons (2-5) continue searching for a winning formula on Saturday night when they host the New York Knicks (3-4) at the Palace at Auburn Hills.

Both teams had to travel to Detroit after Friday night games on the road, so grinding through the fatigue of travel and back-to-back games will be key for the winner. The Pistons are coming off of a discouraging 23-point loss in Philadelphia after Lawrence Frank was forced to shake up the lineup by starting Austin Daye and rookie point guard Brandon Knight with Rodney Stuckey (groin injury) and Ben Gordon (personal) unavailable for the game.

Stuckey expects to miss the game against Detroit tonight, as well with a lingering groin injury while Gordon's status won't be known until game time. Greg Monroe led the way for the Pistons with 22 points and 7 rebounds and will need to be strong against the Knicks to give Detroit a chance to win.

The Knicks rallied Friday night to beat the Washington Wizards 99-96, thanks to a 37-point effort from Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks front court asserted themselves, as well with Amare Stoudemire adding 23 points and 12 rebounds and Tyson Chandler finishing with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Keeping the lid on that trio of New York front court players will be priority one for the Pistons when the game tips off at 7:30 p.m ET.
