It's usually Pavel Datsyuk doing the dangling in Red Wings' shootouts, but Henrik Zetterberg provided the flashy goal on Thursday night in Peter Forsberg fashion [H/T Guyism]:

The goal was the game-winner for the Red Wings, as Jimmy Howard saved the Coyotes' next shot. It was Mike Babcock's 400th career win and Jimmy Howard's 100th.

In case you're wondering how that compares to Forsberg's similar-styled goal that Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond are alluding to, check it out here at D4L.
Also, here's what Z had to say about his goal after the game:

"If I missed that, I kind of look kind of stupid. It was a gamble, but it worked. Had a few options in my head, when I crossed the blue line I kind of made my decision and went with it. I might DVR (’SportsCenter’)."

The Detroit Red Wings rebounded from an embarrassing 5-1 road loss to the dreadful New York Islanders with a come from behind 3-2 shootout win against the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday night in front of the home crowd at the Joe. It was the Red Wings' 13th straight home win.

Detroit answered goals by the Coyotes in both the first and third periods before scoring twice in the shootout. Valtteri Filppula (15) scored at 19:04 in the first on a slap shot that deflected off the defenseman's stick and over Coyotes' goaltender Mike Smith's shoulder to tie the score at one apiece.

In the third period, Johan Franzen (17) scored on a tip-in at a little over the 10-minute mark to tie it at two apiece. That would be all the scoring in regulation and overtime before Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk, back from a one-game hiatus, scored a shootout goal each. Jimmy Howard sealed the win, the 100th of his NHL career, by saving the final two shots in the shootout.

The Red Wings are back at it on Saturday against the Blackhawks again.

If that patterns holds true, the Red Wings will come out on top when they take on the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday night at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.

Detroit will aim to recover from an embarrassing 5-1 loss to the New York Islanders on Tuesday. Since the Red Wings are 15-2-1 at Joe Louis Arena this season, they will be happy to be home after a four-game road trip.

The Red Wings enter the game in fifth place in the Western Conference with 53 points, four points off the first-place Vancouver Canucks, while the Phoenix Coyotes are in seventh place with 46 points, three points off the eighth-place Los Angeles Kings.

Thursday's game, the first of three straight home games for Detroit, is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. eastern.
