The Detroit Pistons rallied in the second quarter to take a 48-44 lead at halftime over the visiting Golden Sate Warriors.

The Warriors led by five points after the first quarter thanks to a strong start from forward David Lee who scored 13 points in the opening quarter. Lee leads Golden State with 17 points and 3 rebounds so far.

Detroit big man Greg Monroe scored 10 of his 17 first-half points in the second quarter to help put the Pistons in front at the break. Monroe also has six rebounds as he appears headed for another monster game.

The Pistons have done a good job keeping the Warriors from getting out and running, holding high-scoring guard Monta Ellis to just five points on one of four field goal attempts. Detroit even has an advantage in fast break points with seven points compared to six for Golden State.

Golden State does have an advantage off the bench thus far with Brandon Rush making a pair of three-pointers to score eight of the team's 16 bench points at the half. Rodney Stuckey's six points accounts for all of Detroit's points off the pine.

The Pistons hope to keep offense moving in the right direction against Warriors.

The Detroit Pistons look to win two games in a row for the second time this season after they broke a six-game losing streak by beating the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night.

On Sunday evening, the Pistons host the Golden State Warriors, a team struggling to string wins together themselves, playing the second of four games on a road swing through the Eastern Conference. The Warriors arrive at the Palace at Auburn Hills after losing at Charlotte on Saturday night, 112-100.

Under new coach Mark Jackson, Golden State is trying to emphasize a better disposition on the defensive end after years of trying to out-score opponents. That effort remains a work in progress as the Warriors still give up 100.4 points per game which ranks 27th in the NBA for points allowed.

Something will have to give in this game since the Pistons continue struggling to score, ranked 29th in the league with 84.9 points per game. There is some hope brewing for Detroit though as they put up a season-high 98 points in their win over Charlotte, thanks to a balanced offensive attack led by Jonas Jerebko's 22 points and Greg Monroe's 19.

The Pistons will continue competing for wins if they can start getting some scoring outbursts from the likes of Ben Gordon and Rodney Stuckey to go along with the front court production.

The Warriors are minus Stephen Curry but are still led by Monta Ellis with 23.9 points per game. Forward David Lee also adds 18.6 points and 11 rebounds per game with newly acquired guard Nate Robinson adding some energy off the bench.
