Four in a row was just too much to ask of the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. The Pistons went to Atlanta looking to tie their best run of the season, but the Hawks, fighting to move up in the standings, had other ideas. Atlanta won by a final score of 101-96.

Rodney Stuckey had 27 points for Detroit, along with three rebounds and three assists. Will Bynum had 15 points, and Brandon Knight had 13.

Hawks point guard Jeff Teague tied a career high with 24 points. Forward Josh Smith had a double double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Joe Johnson and Ivan Johnson both had 16 points to round out the Atlanta offense.

The schedule gets tougher on Sunday when the Pistons swing over to Miami for a game against the Heat.

The Detroit Pistons are in Atlanta on Friday night looking for the fourth win in a row. If they want to put together a four-game streak, they have some work to do in the second half. They trail the Hawks by a score of 52-43 after two periods of play.

Jeff Teaque leads a pretty effective Atlanta offense with 17 points. He is seven-for-11 from the field, as the Hawks are hitting more than 51 percent of their field goals. Josh Smith has 11 points and seven rebounds.

Will Bynum leads the Pistons with nine points. Brandon Knight and Rodney Stuckey each have eight points for Detroit. The Pistons are shooting 45 percent from the field and 55 percent from the free throw line.

The Detroit Pistons will head to Atlanta to play the Hawks on Friday.

The best that the Detroit Pistons have done this year was a four game winning streak, and they'll get a chance to match it when they play the Atlanta Hawks on the backs of a three game streak as well as a streak of winning five of their last six games on Friday.

Rodney Stuckey and crew will need a good performance to shut down Joe Johnson and the Hawks, who got the luxury of a quarter of their last game against the Charlotte Bobcats as they easily dispatched arguably the NBA's worst team.

Atlanta has won the last six games of the series that have taken place in Atlanta. Detroit did win the most recent game though, taking an 86-85 win in Detroit away from the Hawks thanks to a last second winner from Tayshaun Prince.

The game will be at Philips Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET.
