The Detroit Tigers are headed back to the MLB playoffs. They clinched their second consecutive AL Central title on Monday night.

The Detroit Tigers are AL Central champions again. For the second year in a row, the Tigers have won the AL Central title, and for the second year in a row, they are headed to the MLB playoffs.

For quite some time during the 2012 season, it didn't look like the Tigers would actually be in this position. They were the clear favorites to win this division going into the regular season, but they played a lot of inconsistent baseball for most of the year. Luckily, they got things together in the last couple weeks, and they pulled away from the Chicago White Sox and clinched the division crown with a 6-3 win in Kansas City on Monday night.

The Tigers will now get set to host the first two games of the ALDS this coming weekend. They are going to be the No. 3 seed in the AL and take on the No. 2 seed, which is still to be determined. What we do know right now is that playoff baseball is returning to Detroit.
