While the focus on Tuesday will be on Justin Verlander and the Tigers' quest to go up 3-0 in the American League Championship series, the game itself will be only part of the festivities.
Actor Jeff Daniels, who currently stars on the television show, "The Newsroom," will sing "God Bless America" during the seventh-inning stretch of Game 3. Daniels, who grew up in Chelsea, Mich., and is a Tigers fan, has also recorded two music albums in addition to his acting career.
Daniels won't be the only musical performer on Tuesday as the Rev. Marvin Winans will sing the national anthem. Winans is a gospel singer from Detroit who in addition to working on several music albums also founded The Perfecting Church in Detroit.
While the Tigers will have their current ace on the mound, former Detroit ace Jack Morris will start the game off by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. Morris spent 14 years with the Tigers, winning 198 games and a World Series title.
