Yankees vs. Tigers lineups: Curtis Granderson, Alex Rodriguez to sit Game 4 for New York

Facing elimination in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday night, New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi has once again opted to shake things up with his starting lineup.

With Detroit right-hander Max Scherzer set to take the mound, Girardi plans to keep struggling hitters Alex Rodriguez and Curtis Granderson each on the bench to start the game. Rodriguez was held out of the lineup in Game 3 in favor of Eric Chavez, a veteran defensive specialist who will once again start at third base in Game 4.

Despite owning a .333 career average against Scherzer, Granderson will also be forced to take a seat on Wednesday after going 0-for-10 in the first three games of the series. Granderson has only been able to produce three hits in 29 postseason at-bats, and has already racked up a whopping 15 strikeouts over eight playoff games.
