On Thursday, Game 4 of the ALCS will finally get underway, with New York Yankees ace CC Sabathia taking on Max Scherzer of the Detroit Tigers. Sabathia and Scherzer were set to go on Wednesday, but the threat of rain got in the way of that before it even began. As such, it's thrown off the rotation, and though the Yankees are one game away from being swept, it holds some serious consequences on the off-chance that they happen to bring the series back.
According to the LoHud Yankees Blog, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said that Sabathia wouldn't be able to pitch in a potential Game 7, what with the fact that he'd only have two days of rest. That means that the Yankees ace won't get a chance to start twice in this series, in the event that they manage to win the next three games and force a Game 7.
Then again, with four games in four days, it might be best for the Yankees to simply focus on what's in front of them and not what can possibly come after three-straight wins.
