Tigers vs. Giants score: Detroit, San Francisco scoreless after 6 innings in Game 2

The Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants remain scoreless in Game 2 of the World Series Thursday.

Giants starter Madison Bumgarner has given up just two hits, struck out eight and walked one in six innings. Tigers starter Doug Fister has given up three hits, walked one and struck out three in his six innings of work.

The Tigers have had just one base runner, on a walk by Austin Jackson in the top of the sixth, in the last three innings. Delmon Young and Omar Infante are the only Tigers with a hit. Young has the game's only extra-base hit after he doubled in the second.

The Giants also have had just one base-runner, on a single by Pablo Sandoval in the bottom of the sixth, since loading the bases in the second inning. The team's only three hits are by Sandoval, Buster Posey and Gregor Blanco, all singles.

The Tigers had the game's best scoring opportunity in the second inning when Prince Fielder attempted to score from first base on a double by Delmon Young with no one out. Fielder was thrown out at home plate.
